Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Smart Home Technician to work as a 1099 independent contractor. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys the flexibility of contract work while leveraging their expertise in smart home automation, security, and AV installations.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure smart home devices, security cameras, video doorbells, and access control systems
• Set up home and business networks, including routers, Wi-Fi solutions, and structured wiring
• Mount TVs, speakers, and surveillance equipment
• Run and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coax, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues
• Provide professional customer training and support
• Ensure all installations meet industry standards and best practices

Qualifications & Skills

✅ Experience Required: 2 years in smart home technology, low-voltage wiring, or AV/security installations
✅ Proficiency in structured cabling, networking, and system integration
✅ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
✅ Ability to work independently and manage projects efficiently
✅ Own tools, transportation, and necessary equipment for installations
✅ Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
✅ Business liability insurance preferred but not required
