What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Sourcing/Procurement Manager position at Smart IMS?
Develops and executes strategic sourcing and category management strategies to achieve business goals and financial objectives while planning and executing communication strategies that ensure accurate and timely flow of information to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads cross functional stakeholders and project team members through complex, multi-million-dollar strategic sourcing initiatives from project initiation through implementation.
Develops and executes strategic sourcing and category management strategies to achieve business goals and financial objectives.
Employs cost saving and demand management strategies to deliver on financial metrics.
Manages and tracks supplier performance to ensure key contract deliverables and performance standards are met.
Authors and issues complex solicitations including RFI, RFP, RFQ documents to procure indirect products and services in compliance with department procedures and policies.
Plans and executes communications strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to internal stakeholders and to suppliers.
Analyzes historical spend, business requirements and market data to develop and execute sourcing and negotiation strategies.
Negotiates pricing, drafts and interprets contract terms and conditions to establish favorable purchase agreements including but not limited to Master Services Agreements, Statement of Works, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Technology Purchase Agreements.
Responsible for the proper security and disposal of any confidential information that he or she may possess in the course of performing this position's job duties, in accordance with Personnel & Administrative Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies & Procedures Manuals.
Experience and Certifications Required:
Five to seven years of demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management and supplier performance management methodologies to procure indirect products and services as applied in the commercial sector.
Experience in indirect spend categories such as IT, Meeting & Events, Contingency Labor, Professional Services, Consulting, Travel, Human Resources, etc. desired.
Institute of Supply Management certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (as demonstrated by prior work experience):
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and work in a dynamic, fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
Experience in contract administration, vendor negotiation, risk assessment, and procurement best practices.
Ability to determine and apply negotiation strategies that lead to favorable contract terms and conditions and improved pricing.
Ability to be persuasive, negotiate, and collaborate with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Ability to lead people and foster collaborative skills and consensus building while operating in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to listen and interpret the customer's needs to de-escalate difficult customer issues, while at the same time researching the issue and applying broad business and technical knowledge to meet the customer's satisfaction.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.
Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job.
Ability to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine and others.
Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.
Experience using an ERP with procurement related applications
