Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Civil CAD Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil design and a strong command of CAD software tools used in infrastructure and land development projects. In this role, you will support our engineering and design teams by producing accurate, high-quality drawings and plans that align with project goals and industry standards. Your work will contribute directly to the successful execution of a wide range of civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed 2D and 3D civil design drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Revit.
- Support engineers and project managers by translating conceptual layouts and preliminary sketches into construction-ready drawings.
- Prepare site plans, grading and drainage plans, utility layouts, roadway alignments, and other civil design elements.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering markups and stakeholder feedback.
- Utilize SketchUp for conceptual site layouts and visual presentations, as needed.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure all drawings comply with company CAD standards, engineering codes, and client requirements.
- Participate in the preparation of design documentation, technical reports, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in civil design software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, NavisWorks, and SketchUp.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways.
- Prior experience in mechanical or structural CAD work is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with 2D/3D animation or visualization tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering and project teams.
- Associate degree, certification in CAD technology, or equivalent experience in civil engineering drafting/design is preferred.
