Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Architect with expertise in cloud computing, infrastructure management, and enterprise architecture to support the State Organization. This position will play a key role in the oversight, execution, and modernization of cloud services, infrastructure, identity management, and Microsoft environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership skills, experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and a proven ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, upgrade, administer, test, and modify virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.
- Lead cloud migration efforts for applications, infrastructure, and data.
- Oversee and manage Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and other Microsoft environments.
- Ensure proper identity and access management (IAM) controls across multiple platforms.
- Develop and manage a multi-cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Lead enterprise-wide IT modernization initiatives, including cybersecurity, compliance, and data management.
- Automate processes to improve efficiency and security across FDOT IT infrastructure.
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, Git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and present IT solutions and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical IT issues related to cloud, networking, and enterprise applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or 4 years of additional experience in place of degree).
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft Azure cloud systems architect.
- 2-3 years of experience with additional cloud providers (AWS, GCP preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience in information systems engineering or similar IT infrastructure roles.
- 5 years of experience supporting middleware services, including API management, IT service automation, and batch job processing.
- 2-3 years of Microsoft enterprise administration experience (Windows Server, Power Platform, etc.).
- Enterprise Architecture experience (2-3 years).
- Expertise in system automation, DevOps, and infrastructure management.
Technical Skills & Tools:
- Microsoft Azure Services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security).
- Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps).
- Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, Agile methodologies.
- Cloud & On-Premise Security Best Practices (IAM, RBAC, Firewall Configurations).
- Windows & Linux Administration (RedHat, Ubuntu).
- Middleware Support (API Management, IT Service Automation).
- Network & Infrastructure Monitoring Tools.
- Enterprise Architecture & Compliance Knowledge.
- Infrastructure Automation (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash Scripting).

Work Environment & Expectations:
- On-site position in Tallahassee, FL (Monday - Friday, with flexibility between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).
- Must be willing to work after hours, weekends, or on-call as required.
- No telecommuting; candidate must reside in Tallahassee or surrounding area.
