Surgical Technologist (Contract)

Job Description:
Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of surgical procedures, including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, ENT, and Endoscopy. This role requires strong technical skills, adaptability, and the ability to maintain a sterile environment to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Assist in surgical procedures by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies.
✔️ Maintain the highest standards of aseptic techniques.
✔️ Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure all necessary materials are available.
✔️ Operate and monitor specialized OR equipment.
✔️ Ensure sterility of surgical instruments and assist with proper sterilization procedures.
✔️ Participate in staff education, training, and development programs.
✔️ Maintain accurate surgical records and documentation.
✔️ Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
✔️ Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
✔️ Experience: Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
✔️ Certification:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program preferred.
- CST Certification required (If not certified, must obtain within six months of hire OR have 5 years of relevant experience).
- Current BLS certification required.
- ✔️ Flu Vaccination is mandatory.
Additional Compensation Details:
💲 Overtime Rate: Pay Rate $10 after 40 hours per week.
📟 On-call Rate: $4 per hour pager duty.
🔁 Call Back Rate: Pay Rate $10 (Minimum 2-hour callback).
🎉 Holiday Rate: Pay Rate $10.
