What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver (Part Time) position at Smart Kids?

Our Center is looking for 1 Bus Driver.
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
- To supervise children during transportation and maintain the list of children in attendance as they load and depart the bus/van
- To load/unload the children, making sure that each child is in an appropriate seat
- To assume responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of each child on the bus/van
- To check the bus/van interior from front to back to ensure that all children have gotten off
- The driver is solely responsible for assuring that center transportation policies are maintained during transportation
- Keep open lines of communication with the Center Director concerning bus/van management or problems with the children
- To maintain effective interpersonal interview with staff, parents, and children
- To follow all personnel policies and transportation policies
- To maintain prompt hours, notifying the Director in the eve of tardiness or illness
- To attend all center staff meetings
- Maintain attendance and communication logs
- Must be able to be flexible and work a split shift of in the morning and afternoon for school drop off and school pick up
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and education requirements:
- Driver must be 21 years of age
- Hold either a Class B or Class C commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- Must have no convictions of Driving While Impaired (DWI) or any other impaired driving offenses
- Prior experience at an accredited daycare center or school setting
- Prior experience transporting children
- Background verification check
