Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain examination and dental operatory areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist the dentist during procedures by suctioning, holding instruments, and performing other related tasks to ensure efficient patient care.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Review and update patient medical histories and records accurately.
- Educate patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow in the office, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with children and their guardians to alleviate fears and promote a positive dental experience.
- Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Adhere to all dental protocols and guidelines, including infection control and sterilization procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is essential.
- Dental Assistant certification (preferred) or pursuing certification.
- Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with dental software and technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
