Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with students, including those with disabilities. This role is essential in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters the growth and development of all students. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for developing lesson plans, implementing educational programs, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each child's individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including those of students with autism and other disabilities.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and specialists to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants and other staff members in the classroom.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques as needed to support student behavior and emotional well-being.
- Maintain open communication with families regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Experience working with students in an educational setting, particularly in early childhood education.
- Strong lesson planning skills that cater to various learning styles.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques is a plus.
- Previous experience in a private school setting is advantageous but not required.
