What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher - Toddler position at Smart Start?
Our early childhood center is looking for a full time Toddler Teacher Assistant. The full-time position hours may vary from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Full-Time employees receive paid holidays, vacations, and additional PTO and sick pay.
The ideal candidates must have experience working with toddler-age children, be comfortable and confident caring for toddler-aged children, have excellent communication skills, and be a nurturing and patient caregiver. Teaching Assistants help to create innovative lesson plans and enhance the learning environment for our students.

Responsibilities:
Work with children in the classroom and outdoors to promote their learning and development
Communicate with parents and keep them informed about their child's development and any changes to the regular day-to-day schedule
Collaborate with teachers to monitor the development of each child
Understand the teacher's routine when it comes to delivering a lesson plan and running the class in the event that the teacher is absent on a particular day
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills
Nurturing teaching approach
High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred)
Compassionate attitude and strong understanding of child development
Experience caring for young children
Job Types: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $20.50 per hour
