About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team and support our large-scale infrastructure initiatives. The CAD Technician will be responsible for utilizing advanced CAD tools to ensure that 3D digital models are accurate, geospatially referenced, and compliant with A/E/C CAD standards. This role is crucial to ensuring that digital model files are transmitted correctly and that all data layers and annotations are preserved.
Key Responsibilities:
- CAD Tools Utilization:
- Utilize advanced CAD tools and functions, including the eTransmit/Packager tool, to prepare and transmit digital model files, ensuring the full functionality of layers, data files, and annotations is retained.
- A/E/C CAD Standards Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with the A/E/C CAD standard titled ERDC/ITL TR-19-7, maintaining high-quality CAD outputs that meet government and industry standards.
- Geospatial Referencing:
- Ensure that all features in the 3D digital CAD model are geospatially referenced to the project’s survey control, incorporating correct horizontal and vertical datums to align with project specifications.
- Digital Model Export and Transmission:
- Perform routine duties involving the proper export and transmission of digital model files, ensuring full CAD functionality is retained upon data transmittal.
- Collaborate with project engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure all CAD deliverables meet the specified project and client requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Proficiency in using advanced CAD tools and eTransmit/Packager for digital file management.
- Strong understanding of geospatial referencing in 3D CAD models.
- Familiarity with A/E/C CAD standards (ERDC/ITL TR-19-7).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
- Familiarity with geospatial data integration into CAD systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, surveyors, and project managers.
