The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of a tool and die maker yet be interested in working in a die maintenance department. They should be energetic and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency to move to the next challenge or task in the die department.
This role requires manual surface grinding skills using mostly diamond wheels for carbide steel and sand wheels for tool steels such as D2 periodically. The candidate must also have experience using tool room measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth gauges, and optical comparators. A high level of mechanical comprehension is necessary, as well as independence, confidence, and troubleshooting skills.

- Maintain and repair dies in the tool and die department.
- Investigate potential problems, determine their root cause, and bring solutions to the management, engineering, scheduling team, and operators.
- Work closely with all departments within the company, taking on other tasks as assigned by management.
