Job Title: Transit Center Sales Representative
Department: External Affairs, Marketing and Communications
General Summary
Under general supervision, the Transit Center Sales Representative is responsible for the sales of passes to the general public, tickets to agencies, and answers inquiries on fares, routes and schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sells passes to the general public.
- Completes orders for agencies requesting tickets.
- Completes pass orders from the mail, fax, telephone and internet sources.
- Makes daily deposits of sales receipts as scheduled by supervisor.
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding schedule and fare information by phone, fax, e-mail and in person.
- Completes and balances daily report.
- Assists in the distribution of route schedules and other company-related literature as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school graduate.
- One ore more years of experience in a money-handling position such as a sales clerk, cashier or bank teller, which involved working with the public.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.
- Ability to work effectively and courteously with a diverse group of individuals.
- Good mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to accurately compute daily sales report figures using a calculator and Windows-based applications.
