smartdept. is searching for a UX Designer for a financial services client located in Riverwoods, IL . The ideal candidate will come with 5 years of experience. This is a full-time, hybrid 6- month contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension . Compensation for this position is expected to be $45-$65 / hour depending on experience level and fit.
Responsible for leading the product design of design systems that exhibit industry-leading visual design and interaction.
As a designer of a digital design system team, this person will design and compose guidance for components, patterns, and all design system elements to facilitate the creation of accessible, refreshing, and easy-to-use experiences. They will use qualitative and quantitative data to understand problems and find solutions that continually move the design system forward.
What You’ll Do :
Conducts scholarly research on UX best practices and composes findings into actionable documentation and direction for design and development.
Develops design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and other UX / UI design deliverables in Figma and other tools.
Understands the target users’ needs, motivations, and behaviors as it relates to an overall, repeatable user experience workflow, journey, or template, design system, and brand. Seeks to improve skills with a continuous learning and improvement mindset.
Partners with key stakeholders including business owners, product owners, technology, legal, and research to design best-in-class design system elements that ensure cohesive user experiences throughout customer digital journeys.
Strategizes and collaborates with experience design, product design, and engineering teams to identify requirements of digital experiences and design system elements.
Utilizes existing user research and A / B testing capabilities to present and validate design solutions. Composes and contributes to design system documentation, guidelines and governance.
