We are seeking a Lead Databricks Administrator responsible for the administration, management, and support of our internally developed Databricks platform. This role is divided between 20% project work and 80% incident management, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any referred incidents. The team focuses on the support of the Databricks platform, enabling tools for data governance, adhering to security standards, and ensuring scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and analyze new technical solutions, tools, and techniques to improve delivery processes and increase business value.
- Ensure that Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets are met and collaborate with teams to meet overall objectives.
- Manage changes to production systems in accordance with the Change Management process.
- Oversee 2-3 technologies, handling complete ownership, including maintenance, upgrades, training, and mentoring.
- Resolve Databricks-related issues and troubleshoot standard deployments to determine root causes.
- 3 years of experience providing 2nd/3rd line support in fast-paced environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
- 2 years of experience with Databricks and integration with Azure technologies.
- 6 months of experience with Unity Catalog and Databricks tools (Workflows, Delta Sharing, Serverless, SQL Warehouses).
- 2 years of experience with Python and Spark, including performance tuning.
- 1 year of experience with Terraform as Infrastructure as Code (IaaC).
- Experience with Terraform Cloud, Azure Functions, GitHub, and CI/CD deployments.
- Knowledge of cloud cost monitoring and resource tagging within a defined hierarchy.
- Strong background in troubleshooting Spark data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure Security and Databricks architecture is a plus.
