SmartHire is looking an experienced Payroll Administrator for a client in Lacey WA. This is a full time, direct hire, hybrid position. Ideal candidate will have strong full cycle multi state payroll experience to include garnishments, withholdings, reimbursements along with strong reporting and auditing skills. Knowledge of HRIS systems and Payroll software required along with Excel skills. This position does require you to be onsite 1 day a week.
Pay:
$27-$34 an hour DOE.

Shift:
M-F – between 7am – 530pm (flexible start time) onsite 1 day a week (Wednesday OR Thursday)
The Payroll Administrator provides professional level payroll expertise to ensure employees are paid properly and in a timely manner for affiliated companies on a multi-state, bi-weekly basis. This role will also encompass responsibilities for data entry upkeep as related in HRIS applications and system maintenance; assisting with data collection and verification for payroll and assistance with a compilation of payroll related internal reports.
Essential Job Functions:
· Process multi-state payroll for 3 separate entities accurately and completely in a timely manner every time. Adaptable to the needs of managers when payroll issues arise
· Processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments
· Investigate and Resolve payroll discrepancies
· Prepare payroll related general ledger entries
· Work with Payroll provider to ensure payroll related tax reports are filed timely
· Prepare payroll reports and distribute to management
· Assist with 401K audit and statutory compliance audits
· Ensuring strict confidentiality rules are followed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of full-cycle payroll with multi-state experience
· Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations
· Processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments
· Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality because of information inherent to this role
· Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem solving
· Skilled in time management and prioritizing tasks and duties, ability to work independently
· Ability to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work and customer service-based environment
· This person must be ready to stick with policy and procedure, but consistently apply policy and procedure with empathy and positivity
Education and Experience:
· Degree in accounting preferred
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle Payroll with strong understanding of both mandatory withholding and elective deductions through 401K and all other benefits
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Intermediate Excel and 10 key by touch.
· Experience with Payroll software, ERP systems and HRIS systems
· Basic understanding of GAAP and accounts reconciliation.
