SmartTalent is seeking a detail-oriented Invoicing Specialist responsible for timely and accurate invoicing of ocean freight charges and billing accessorial charges for both northbound and southbound shipments. Job Title: Invoicing Specialist
Location: Tacoma, WA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $45k - $60k yearly | DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete month-end closing of all revenue charges.
- Daily invoicing of ocean shipments (northbound and southbound) to improve billing velocity.
- Process Alaska and L48 carrier charges.
- Review and bill detention, storage, and sublease charges.
- Process various Alaska and L48 accessorials.
- Develop a thorough understanding of tariffs and customer contracts.
- Run control reports and perform pre-audits to increase accuracy.
- Utilize data and billing systems such as EAM, BOX, Syncada, JDA, ETA, and IPP.
- Collaborate with internal departments for efficient communication.
- Perform data entry and keyboarding tasks efficiently.
- Provide department-wide support and complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of customer service or billing experience, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote).
