This is a Temp to Hire position offering full time hours along with competitive wage and benefit package. OBJECTIVE:
The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for performing detailed sewing operations, Following production instructions in accordance with manufacturing standards, Operating sewing machine, heat sealer or other machinery, Ensuring highest quality products are produced.
JOB DUTIES:
· Ability to sew products according to engineering and quality specifications.
· Ability to complete sewing operations within established time standards.
· Ability to utilize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software to enter work order information; input operator, quality, equipment, and downtime information; access engineering documentation, quality information and work instructions.
· Ability to read and understanding engineering documentation, quality information and work instructions.
· Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment to perform job duties.
· Ability to move and transport product from one operation to the next operation.
· Responsible for inspecting material and workmanship from previous operations to quality and engineering specifications.
· Responsible for self-inspection: inspecting material and workmanship of completed work to quality and engineering specifications before passing work on to next operation.
· Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.
· At manager’s discretion, may performs preliminary, in-process, and final product inspections in the following manner:
· Utilize uniPoint to record quality information for completed products following Sewn Product Inspection Procedure (D17-1217-40).
· Performs inspection of sewn products following Sewn Product Inspection Criteria (D07-114-30) and by verifying to master samples of product.
· Delivers completed WIP product and stages on shelves in shipping department.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Computer – ability to learn and operate MES production software.
· Teamwork – ability to work with others supporting company's Values and Principles (Quality, Integrity, Caring).
· Self-directed – ability to complete job duties with minimal supervision.
· Mechanical – ability to use tools and equipment to perform job duties.
· Communication – ability to effectively communicate with peers and managers verbally and through use of MES production software.
· Problem solving – ability to follow standardized processes and how to seek out assistance when issues arise
