Security Account Manager - SLED Sales focus
The SLED (State, Local and Educational Sector) Account Manager is responsible for achieving sales quota in assigned territory through direct sales to customers. In this role the candidate controls the accounts directly even if the business is booked through channels.
Essential duties;
- Adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and guidelines.
- Execute a structured selling process to achieve sales objectives.
- Book business in alignment with company booking and revenue recognition policies.
- Understand customers' businesses and how the company's products impact their business.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders and coaches within accounts.
- Maintain a sales pipeline of at least 4X the quota and actively prospect in both new and existing accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with channel partners.
- Engage with decision-makers and influencers across multiple levels of organizations.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers to ensure technical support for accounts.
- Align with and follow company strategies and directives.
- Travel extensively within the region and occasionally beyond as required.
- The candidate must be based on the West Coast or in the Mountain States region.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in network security or cybersecurity.
- At least 5 years of experience selling into large IT/Data Center environments.
- Proven experience (5 years) in the SLED (State, Local, and Education) market segment.
- A solid, articulate understanding of clients technology, market and client profile
- Track record of exceptional and consistent quota achievement
- A demonstrated, quantifiable track record of success, including territory and professional growth.
- Demonstrated success with an established network of customers and contacts, along with in-depth territory knowledge.
- Ability to independently manage and work with large, complex accounts.
- Proven expertise in sourcing, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities.
