Candidates MUST BE local to the San Francisco Bay Area. No relocation assistance is available. Must have experience working onsite or hybrid in the past 5 years.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Startup Mentality & Drive: Proven ability to develop complete products, not just components.
• Fast-Paced Execution: Able to iterate quickly and work at startup speed.
• Relevant Startup Experience: Worked at a startup (ideally 5-50 employees) within the past 5 years.
• Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Proven Excellence: Demonstrated distinction through top-tier university, prestigious awards, highly recognized GitHub projects (1000 stars), entrepreneurial ventures, or rapid career growth.
• Effective Communication: Clear, concise, and logical communicator no excessive rambling or ambiguity.
• Full Stack Expertise: Ideally 60% backend, 40% frontend.
• Professional Experience: 5 years in software engineering, including 2 years at a senior level with full end-to-end development responsibility.
• Hybrid Work Flexibility: Available to be onsite 3 days per week in the Bay Area, with prior hybrid/onsite experience in the past 5 years.

• Big Corporate Background: 3 years at a slow-moving, large company.
• Frequent Job Changes: More than two roles in the last five years, each lasting under a year.
• Current Leadership Role: Not currently in a managerial or leadership position.
• Contracting/Consulting Focus: Background in development agencies or consulting-only roles.
• Frontend-Heavy Experience: Primarily focused on frontend development.
• Remote-Only Work History: No prior onsite or hybrid experience.
• Visa Sponsorship Requirement: No full visa sponsorship unless the candidate is exceptionally qualified.

• Electronics Background: Experience in electronic circuit design or electrical engineering.
• AI & Machine Learning: Hands-on experience with AI APIs, custom model training, or AI research.
• Tech Stack Proficiency: Strong skills in Python and JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Ember, Electron.js).
• UX/UI Focus: Understanding of user experience, beyond just technical implementation.
• Passion Projects: Side projects, especially related to electronics, are highly valued.
