As an SEO Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in helping businesses find Smarty by improving search rankings, driving qualified traffic, and supporting demand-generation efforts through product-led SEO strategies.
We’re looking for someone who’s equal parts detective and digital wizard, someone who spots the tiniest technical detail and constantly asks, “Why did Google do that?” If you're naturally curious and love connecting the dots between keywords, content, and customer intent, keep reading.

What you'll do:
- Enjoy geeking out about keywords, meta, schema, and the occasional algorithm update.
- Conduct SEO keyword research using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console.
- Optimize content and metadata to improve visibility in AI-generated overviews.
- Support the product marketing team by recommending new content topics and optimizing existing articles, blogs, videos, and product pages.
- Help perform technical SEO audits and implement basic fixes.
- Monitor SEO performance using Google Analytics and other tools, and report on keyword rankings, traffic trends, and site health.
- Feed a constant stream of content briefs to the insatiable writing team.
- Stay on top of SEO trends, AI searches, Google updates, and competitor activity.
- Work closely with product marketing, design, website, and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across digital properties.
- Maintain documentation of work, insights, and results in our project management and analytics tools.
- Conduct SERP analysis by identifying ranking patterns, comparing competitor content, and spotting opportunities based on what’s showing up in the top results.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute ideas to help us continuously improve.
Who you are:
- 1–3 years of experience in SEO, preferably in an agency or SaaS environment.
- Experience performing keyword research, basic SEO audits, and optimizing web content.
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals, including on-page, off-page, and technical SEO best practices.
- Basic knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Strong attention to detail—nothing gets past you, and you're not afraid to go down a rabbit hole all the way to the rabbit home as needed.
- Ravenously curious, with a desire to learn more about how search engines work and how people find solutions online.
- Familiar with tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or other comparables.
- A love for solving puzzles and figuring things out.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic recommendations based on findings.
