Role Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our corporate office team in West Des Moines, IA. This role will oversee the daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and assist with budgeting and forecasting for our multi-unit, multi-state operation. The Accounting Manager will work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and help guide strategic decisions. This role also includes overseeing compliance with state tax accounts (payroll, sales, etc.) and managing various licenses, including music, liquor, and food, for our venues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting functions, including AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
• Prepare and present annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly board reporting packages.
• Monitor trends in operating expenses and capital expenditures to optimize financial performance.
• Work with external CPA to handle taxes, depreciation, and annual audits.
• Manage and improve payroll processing and related documentation.
• Oversee insurance administration and employee benefits programs.
• Ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations, including payroll, sales tax, and other relevant filings.
• Manage and maintain all necessary business licenses, including music, liquor, and food permits, to ensure compliance across our venues.
• Prepare and manage liquidity forecasts to maintain financial stability.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Requirements:

• 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit environments.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• CPA or relevant certifications preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in or relocate to Des Moines, IA.
