Role Description
This role is within the Japanese & Asian Corporate Banking Department. The main function of this position is to build business connection with people in energy and natural resources sectors based in Houston and surrounding area and gather information relating to energy or natural resources projects with which Japanese or other Asian companies are involved. Report to and closely collaborate with Group Head and Relationship Managers in New York to provide information to potential clients so that SMBC is able to be involved with such energy or natural resources projects at an early stage. Potentially may be in charge of some existing clients as Relationship Manager (RM).
This role can be based in Houston or NY
Role Objectives
- Build business connection with people in energy and natural resources sectors.
- Gather information relating to energy or natural resources projects with which Japanese or other Asian companies are involved.
- Gather information on recent trends and activities of energy and natural resources sectors.
- Support in preparation of client materials (presentations, proposals, etc.) and presentation.
- If assigned existing clients as RM) Maintain client relationship, cultivate clients’ banking needs and promote banking products
- Provide ad hoc reports for management.
