PURPOSE
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating with other marketing and sales professionals to implement innovative campaigns, support marketing programs, as well as to maintain marketing content via print and digital media. Also responsible for supporting new product launches and sales promotions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assist in implementing and tracking marketing programs such as trade shows, social media, promotional tools and digital campaigns
Collaborate with other internal teams (e.g. product and sales) to develop and monitor marketing initiatives, supporting SMC’s broad line of components for industrial automation
Report on the performance and efficiency of campaigns
Conduct market research, voice-of-customer research and analyze trends to support new sales and/or product development opportunities
Assist in creating marketing materials, such as sales and product collateral, and ensure brand guidelines are met
Write, proofread, and edit product content across different mediums and communication channels
Various marketing tasks to support product management, product promotions, industry events and digital marketing.
Accept and learn from the mentoring from senior team members.
All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
Occasional travel, mainly for trade shows.
The occasional physical demand of moving or rearranging files and file storage boxes, and or product
Fast Paced Office Environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in marketing or related work experience. Experience in manufacturing is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of various marketing and analytics tools including CRM systems, content management systems, graphics software, and MS Office is preferred
Excellent analytical skills and a knack for data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be able to effectively communicate
Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail
Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
Ability to travel as necessary
Perform duties with minimal direction if applicable.
