PURPOSE
The lead engineer defines problems, conducts research, analyzes criteria, determines solutions, and makes decisions. Much of this position's time is spent on research, solution application, and information transfers.

PURPOSE

Essential Duties
- Creativity, innovation of existing departmental processes and/or existing products
- Reliability, be available to complete tasks/projects as required by internal/external customer requirements
- Communicate with various departments or with individuals directly associated with assigned tasks/projects (Verbal and Written)
- Occasional travel; mainly for training purposes, customer support/projects, potential trips to Japan, or validation trips
- Take verbal and/or written directions on tasks, training, projects, or department/company policies
- Provide verbal and or written results, a summary of tasks/projects, or requests to various persons during the execution of tasks/projects
- Produce the end product of requested tasks/projects in the form of components, assemblies, drawings, data files, proposals, or reports
- Collect, interpret, and clarify customer requirements.
- Develop/modify designs to meet customer-provided requirements
- Provide specific customer support
- Establish and improve product cost targets
- Complete detailed product analysis
- Lead the introduction of standard products for distribution and manufacturing
- Lead projects
- Assist other design engineers with projects
- Provide training to engineers
- Provide product and process assistance to the manufacturing team as requested
- Record daily activities
- Will be assigned tasks for training and development purposes
- Other duties, as assigned to support company goals
- Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
- The occasional physical demand of moving or rearranging files and file storage boxes, and or product
- Fast-paced office environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience
- Proficient with CAD software (Design & Manufacturing principles)
- Complete understanding of common manufacturing practices
- Ability to handle multiple projectsGood oral and written skills
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers tactfully and in a professional manner
