What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assistant position at SMC, LLC?
A unique, industry-leading medical device manufacturer is seeking a candidate interested in joining a friendly, growing, fast-paced team environment. We are building our management team and will train the right person for that role to grow with the company. Eventually, the right person will manage a department or group of milling machines and oversee a small internal team planned for the future. Pay will rise with skill level and team development. Candidates should possess strong computer skills, organizational skills, and an interest in being in a manufacturing setting where hands-on experience with the product and the machines/equipment that produce the product is required. This is a mix of computer skills with the physical aspects of manufacturing. Beneficial traits include attention to detail and computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word and Excel. The candidate should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, be motivated, have spatial relation skills, and have good hand-eye coordination. Other valuable assets would be different types of manufacturing, software, and part inspection experience.
Tasks may include computer work, operating high-tech milling machines, mill maintenance, speaking with customers by phone, part collection, part inspection, billing, packing, and shipping. The right candidate can also work in a small on-site foundry.
The hours of operation are 8-5. The company pays for health care, excluding Rx, deductible, and office visit fees, from the first day of employment.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
