What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Administrator position at SMC Ltd.?
Job Summary:
Work directly with all Quality Team Members and other Departments to assist with calibration needs, asset and retain management, updating and any other Quality System improvements. Work closely with Quality Engineering team to achieve goals and objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contacting vendors, obtaining quotes, creating purchase orders, and coordinating onsite visits and/or setting up shipments to send gages out for calibration.
- Manage equipment database, ensuring equipment due for calibration is located and calibration is performed in the designated time frame.
- Responsible for any and all equipment relating to product production or product measurement including: installation, assigning asset numbers, labeling, and location of equipment), documentation.
- Requests preventative maintenance and calibration instructions certifications, updating equipment (ownership, location and deactivation) and preventative maintenance setup in IQMS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Review and verify calibration certificates, update IQMS with current calibration information by scanning and uploading certificate reports per gauge.
- Create, investigate and submit Incident Review Forms for all gauges found out of tolerance, missing or requiring repair.
- Responsible for the organization, creation, and implementation of retain database: Production quality retain storage methods in Vertical Lift Module (VLM).
- Responsible for the organization, creation, and implementation of New Product Development quality retains storage on pallets
- Responsible for annual retain removal based on retain retention chart. Assist in pulling retains when requested.
- Overseeing all Temperature Controlled Warehouse (TCW) Dickson Controllers: monthly reporting.
- Regular attendance, punctuality and professionalism.
- Promotes good working relationships with others by displaying positive behaviors.
- Perform internal audits per ISO Internal Audit Schedule as required.
- Compile and verify Quality Assurance records for audits.
- Maintain and upload quality records into IQMS.
- Proper control of all records and retention periods.
- File, copy and other miscellaneous duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1-2 years Quality/Manufacturing/Engineering Experience
- Basic ISO requirement knowledge required
- Must be detailed oriented
- Desire to drive fact-based decisions
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience using the following computer software: Excel, Data Base Software including Access and Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
ADA Requirements:
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
- Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
- Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
- Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
