Warehouse Manager – SMC Cape Girardeau
SMC Cape Girardeau is seeking a highly qualified individual to manage our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, a strong team player, and have proven experience in warehousing or inventory management, with an emphasis on minimizing variance. This role requires effective people management skills and the ability to develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving:
- Ensure compliance with company-approved procedures for all receiving operations.
- Properly stock received materials or allocate to open customer orders.
- Manage shortages, damages, and work with vendors to file claims and close purchase orders with local accounting.
Shipping:
- Oversee all aspects of picking, packaging, and delivering customer orders.
- Manage warehouse transfers within the region and across the company.
- Coordinate driver scheduling between regional warehouses.
General:
- Maintain an organized, audited, and safe warehouse environment.
- Schedule and track vehicle maintenance.
- Collaborate with warehouse managers company-wide to transition to a barcode system over the next 18 months (training and travel within Missouri required; expenses covered).
- Work with local operations and accounting to address and resolve any operational or financial issues.
- Investigate stock variances using system software and documentation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in warehouse or inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and develop teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technological competence.
- Highly motivated with a focus on accuracy and operational efficiency.
Additional Information:
- Working hours: 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as required.
- Travel within Missouri required for barcode system training.
