Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. In this role you will oversee multiple high-value structural steel projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, subcontractors, and internal teams while ensuring strict compliance with PMI best practices, PMP guidelines, and company standards. Your expertise will be crucial in mitigating risks, optimizing workflows, and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Planning & Execution:
- Oversee structural steel projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop and execute project plans following PMI best practices, including scope definition, risk assessment, and schedule management.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, setting clear expectations with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, detailing, fabrication, and erection teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact project delivery.
Financial & Contract Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Handle project financials, including cost in excess, change orders, and progress billing.
- Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Work with finance teams to track earned revenue, project cash flow, and forecasting.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships through transparent communication, regular updates, and problem-solving.
- Lead project meetings, providing detailed progress reports and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure client satisfaction while balancing company interests and project success.
Risk & Quality Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks using structured PMI methodologies.
- Implement and enforce quality control standards in fabrication and field installation.
- Ensure all work complies with AISC standards, OSHA safety regulations, and contract requirements.
- Drive safety-first initiatives across all project phases.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and guide assistant project managers and junior team members, fostering professional growth.
- Ensure accountability across teams, setting high standards for performance and efficiency.
- Promote collaboration between project management, procurement, fabrication, and field teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
- Proven track record of managing projects ranging from $5M to $150M.
- Strong understanding of contract negotiation, financial reporting, and risk management.
- Experience leading teams of project managers, engineers, and field staff.
- Expert in reading and interpreting structural drawings and erection plans.
- Proficient in project management software (Procore, Tekla PowerFab, Trimble Vista, or similar).
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification highly preferred.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
