The Lead AutoCAD Drafter/Graphic Designer will become a part of our team as an essential team player in the designing and building of highly complicated and specialized roofs. An aptitude for architecture and construction, as well as a willingness to work hard, will ensure the incumbent Lead AutoCAD Drafter/Graphic Designer becomes a key factor in our organization.
Roles:
- Creating, altering, and reviewing/revising the AutoCAD team’s construction sketches.
- Ongoing drawing-focused collaboration with reviewing/revising details and drawings with our construction team, project managers, and material suppliers/manufacturers.
- Management, organization, and reviewing/revising of all required CAD drawings.
- Printing and submission of CAD drawings in various formats and packages and delivering them to the correct contact promptly.
- Developing graphic design elements for presentations, marketing materials, and project documentation to enhance visual clarity and impact.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to create cohesive branding materials that align with the project vision.
- Designing and formatting project reports, proposals, and other documentation for professional presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, site visits, and reviewing the teamwork for accuracy and correcting them prior to submission.
- Seamlessly integrating and working with our construction team, project managers, and material suppliers/manufacturers to produce and alter drawings.
- Thinking creatively and critically to lead and support the project team in the design process, creating details and drawings that work.
- Managing, overseeing, creating, and continually updating project drawings lists.
- Printing various formats of drawing sets for project managers and site superintendents.
- Systematically creating and saving details and drawings on our CAD server; managing and keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made.
- Exhaustively reviewing and checking sketches and drawings for errors before being sent to architects, project managers, etc.
- Seeking clarity and understanding from architects and project managers when performing tasks; overseeing the AutoCAD Team’s responsibilities.
- Managing, organizing, and uploading drawings to web-based storage sites/collaboration project sites to share drawings with the construction team, project managers, material suppliers/manufacturers, and customers.
- Managing, creating, editing, and updating standard details for use in projects.
- Utilizing graphic design software to create visually engaging content for both internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- A degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Graphic Design or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a lead CAD Operator in a management role.
- Outstanding fluency and skill in AutoCAD 2018 or higher, with AutoCAD LT experience.
- Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Experience and knowledge of construction details and LEED information.
- Excellent management and communication skills; listening, comprehension, and feedback.
