What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Aide position at Smelter City Senior Citizens' Center?
Position: Kitchen Aide
Hours: M-Th 6:00AM-1:00PM F 6:00AM-10:00AM (Friday hours may increase to 6:00AM-1:00PM to meet the needs of Smelter City Senior Citizen Center.)
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working in a restraint or kitchen is preferred.
- Familiar with local sanitation regulations as they relate to kitchen safety and food preparation preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Responsible To:
- Director of Smelter City Senior Citizen Center (direct supervisor)
- Cook (day to day directions on tasks)
Specific Duties:
- Employees are subject to all policies and procedures of the Smelter City Senior Citizen Center.
- Prepare desserts and salads for home delivery for all delivery areas.
- Get frozen meals ready for delivery accordingly.
- Do baking as needed.
- Clean working area and table.
- Refill dessert cups if necessary. Keep both cups and lids filled.
- Prepare salads and desserts to be served in the dining room for that day.
- Work the serving line. Maintain a clean working area.
- Put supplies away when needed.
- Wash tables after lunch daily.
- Clean carts, shelves, chairs whatever is necessary.
- Answer phones when needed.
- Follow instructions and complete work in a timely manner.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance. Dress in accordance with health and meal preparation regulations and to Smelter City Senior Citizen Center’s policies and procedures. Dressing appropriately is mandatory which is no sleeveless or tank tops are allowed. No sandals or open toe shoes are allowed.
- Practice on the job safety procedures.
- Attend required training or special meetings as deemed necessary.
- Exhibits friendly and courteous behavior always when serving.
- Meets with director as required discussing any related problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
