What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Engineer Central Plant - FT position at SMGHA Nevada, LLC?
Core Job Responsibilities:
Assists in supervising, developing, and maintaining the ongoing maintenance program for the hotel. Including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, air handler units, ice machines, pool, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
Focus on delivering superior guest service and product quality.
Works closely with other departments and Guest Services to ensure coordination of activities. May work with other managers/supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Assists with scheduling all work, ordering of materials, and ensuring assignments are completed by a specific date.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Assist general engineers on maintenance/repairs.
Ensure proper procedures are followed when using maintenance equipment.
Perform and or oversee equipment preventive maintenance.
Ensure team member compliance with all safety/loss prevention standards and regulations.
Carry out systems troubleshooting and repair for all facilities systems.
Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
Perform journeyman-level maintenance and repairs.
Assist with training new associates and re-trains current associates to ensure they have the proper tools and knowledge to do their jobs.
Assists with the inspection of the guest room/public area/commercial equipment preventive maintenance program to ensure that all areas of the hotel are inspected.
Assists with ensuring that the property maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of guest and proprietary information, protecting company assets.
Handle requests for information, mail, and messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
Have knowledge of and assist in emergency procedures as required.
Assist other departments when needed to ensure world class service to guests.
Adhering to all company policies and procedures
Perform other job duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in hotel or commercial building Engineering Department is required.
Vocational Institution Certificate and completion of apprenticeship in plumbing or electrical repair is preferred with at least 1 year of hotel engineering experience OR 2 years hotel engineering experience with 2 years hotel line level operations experience.
Ability to read and interpret business and statistical reports and make decisions based on prior experience/opinions.
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Must maintain composure and objectivity while in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests.
Must have a positive attitude and have a team mindset.
Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office and fast-paced hotel setting.
Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
May be exposed to smoke
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Constant contact with department management, employees, and guests.
Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 60 pounds occasionally
Eye/hand coordination.
Use of standard office equipment.
Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
