Job Description Schnucks’ Summer Intern Program is an immersive corporate internship based at our St. Louis, Missouri headquarters. Interns gain real-world experience in their designated department, and collaborate on a cross-functional, inter-disciplinary group project to present at the end of the summer. These are paid internships that require full-time attendance 6/5/2023 through 8/11/2023. The 2023 Data Science Summer Internship offers a unique experience by exposing interns to virtually every area within our Data Science department (advanced models predicting and prescribing key business features, with focus on statistics and Machine Learning). Our department has a peer/team oriented environment with dedicated mentors. This structure will afford you the opportunity to work with other students from several other business programs in the Saint Louis area. This exposure provides interns with invaluable practical work experience and will fast-track your professional business career! Essential Responsibilities: Drive model development and deployment through statistical modeling or machine learning modeling. Assist in different work streams including automation, training, and change management. Develop skills in state-of-the-art data mining tools like Google Cloud Platform. Assist with special projects as needed. Learn valuable workplace skills in a real-world environment. Cross-functional group project collaborating with other interns. Minimum Requirements: Required Education: Current and Fall 2023 enrollment in a Master’s Degree or PhD program, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a similar discipline. Available to work full-time Monday through Friday 6/5/2023 – 8/11/2023. Interest in Schnucks advancement post-graduation. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: One year research experience in a quantitative field. Knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning. Experience in SQL and R or Python. Experience and comfort with utilizing Google Suite products. Motivated to learn and detail oriented. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Must be able to work remotely as necessary. Displays values consistent with Schnucks' COMET culture. Additional Requirements – Internal candidates: Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks. Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks. Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline). If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
