We are currently looking for an experienced Human Resource Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of our Selbyville Delaware office and will oversee HR related duties for 3 offices. Travel to our Kenton Delaware and Ewing NJ offices will be required for meetings, training and interoffice audits.
Summary: The Human Resource Manager is expected to provide a comfortable environment for employees to address their needs, stay on pace with ever changing labor laws and policies, research and implement new company policies, have the ability to redirect priorities and provide support to upper management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll by ensuring accuracy of entries and deductions, process bi-weekly payroll for 3 offices.
- Process and submit Certified Payroll.
- Provide guidance to Administrative Assistants on entering time, documentation and other employee related items.
- Oversees and maintains employee files including tracking PTO.
- Educate employees on benefit options.
- Manage benefits, certifications and anniversary renewals.
- Contact person for all worker’s compensation, unemployment and FMLA.
- Work with insurance companies during open enrollment and throughout the year.
- Process new hires, terminations, deductions, garnishments, promotions, benefit changes.
- Maintain DOT Driver documents.
- Prepare reports as needed
- Review, suggest and implement new procedures.
- Travel to Kenton Delaware and Ewing NJ office as needed for internal audits, benefit open enrollment and training. (Travel will only be as needed).
- Responsible for outside agency audits.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of Human Resources experience with 2 years of Management.
- Must be well versed and up to date in DE, MD and NJ labor laws and procedures.
- Must be willing to travel as needed to SMI Offices located in Kenton Delaware & Ewing NJ.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should be a motivated self-starter with great attention to detail, who can work without supervision.
- Demonstrate flexibility, ingenuity and professionalism.
- Work closely with Owners, Directors, CEO and Regional Office Manager.
- Soild knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
- Must be persistent and follow through on assignments.
- SHRM certification preferred but not required.
