Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic oral surgery practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, assisting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and medical histories, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office.
- Support the front desk with dental receptionist duties when necessary, including managing phone calls and patient inquiries.
- Ensure that all dental instruments are properly sterilized and maintained according to safety standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; candidates with relevant training will also be considered.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
- Experience with X-Ray procedures is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for managing multiple tasks effectively.
- A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for building rapport with patients and team members alike.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
