Position:        Dental Insurance Specialist
Location:       Citrus Height, CA 
Schedule:      Full-time/Mondays-Thursdays 8a.m. - 5p.m. and Fridays 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling various aspects of dental insurance-related tasks. Your duties will include verifying insurance eligibility, processing treatment plans, coordinating payments, maintaining thorough records, and performing other administrative tasks. You will collaborate closely with our Front Office and Administrative staff to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial transactions. Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Process Real Time Eligibility (RTE) for all appointments
• Process Treatment Plans for all appointments ,
• Work reports
  • Insurance Aging
  • Outstanding Claims
  • Closed Claims
• Work “denials” and resubmit claims with needed information
• Collaborate with other Front Office and Admin staff as appropriate and understand their roles in the administrative process
• Make and receive calls to/from patients and insurance companies for matters related to collections and verifying insurance
• Maintain accurate recordkeeping
• Adhere to Smile Island and Weideman’s policies, procedures, and directives
• Other duties as assigned by Managers

Essential Skills:

• Excellent comprehension, efficiency, and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Advanced knowledge of dental insurance plans and understanding of insurance processes
• Ability to multi-task and work with occasional interruptions, completing duties within a timely manner
• Proficient in numerical analysis and data interpretation
• Ability to follow direction from management as well as understand and follow the practices’ established formats and policies
• Ability to clearly and tactfully explain insurance benefits and payment requirement to patients
• Understanding of clinical procedures and CDT codes
• Comfortable with executing preauthorizations, posting payments, processing denials, and collecting overdue payments

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting
• Lift up to 5 pounds from time to time
• Dexterity of arms, hands, and fingers
• Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and read written and digital materials
• Hear people on the phone and in person and speak clearly in order to communicate information effectively

Pay range is $24 - $27 depending on experience and credentials
