Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks, providing exceptional care to our patients while adhering to all safety and health regulations.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring optimal patient comfort and care.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient information.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Utilize dental systems for managing appointments, billing, and patient communication.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a gentle approach to ensure a positive experience for younger patients.
- Operate 3D scanners for advanced imaging when necessary.
- Assist in prosthodontics procedures by preparing materials and providing four-handed dentistry support.
Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Knowledge of dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and patient communication.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Experience working with dental clinic systems for efficient practice management.
- Proficiency in using 3D scanners is a plus.
- A background in pediatric dentistry is advantageous but not required.
