Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatments. This position requires a blend of technical skills, patient interaction, and knowledge of dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Ensure the sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Monitor vital signs as necessary during patient visits.
- Utilize dental software- Dolphin
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry cases, ensuring a friendly environment for younger patients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant is required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
- Familiarity with Dolphin
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to take vital signs and assist with basic medical assessments.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is advantageous.
