Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services, procedures, and insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Process billing and insurance claims using systems such as Dentrix and Meditech.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including coding using ICD-9 standards.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and 10 key typing as needed.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or dental setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology is essential for effective communication with patients and staff.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Meditech is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and coding tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Basic knowledge of administrative functions including scheduling, billing, and patient management systems.
