Overview:
Well-established 11-attorney law firm located in downtown Tacoma seeks an associate attorney to work with our family law team. The selected candidate will work primarily in our family law department. You will be assigned a mentor and receive increasing authority over your own cases including meeting with clients, discovery, drafting motions, arguing motions, preparing for and representing clients through mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
Qualifications:
- 2 years’ family law practice experience as a licensed attorney required.
- Admitted to Washington State Bar and in good standing with WSBA.
- Excellent research and writing skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven effectiveness working on multiple projects with competing deadlines and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both inside and outside the courtroom.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to identity client goals and communicate well with clients.
- Positive attitude and ability to establish rapport with clients, team members, and other attorneys.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence in managing assigned tasks.
- High proficiency with computers, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Drafting, including motions, briefs, and client advice letters.
- Client advocacy, inside and outside the courtroom.
- Conduct discovery, including written discover and depositions.
- Preparation for and representation of clients through all stages of the case.
- Assist in the litigation process and case strategy by preparing case files, organizing evidence, and collaborating with senior attorney.
- Maintain organized records of all legal documents and correspondence related to ongoing cases.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
