Position Overview:
Our organization is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. The Physical Therapist will be responsible for providing specialized evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to pediatric patients with a variety of physical conditions. Title: Pediatric Physical Therapist
Location: Lower Westchester County NY
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients, including physical assessments, mobility analysis, and functional capabilities.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, medical history, and specific physical needs. Tailor therapy interventions to each patient’s needs and goals.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct physical therapy services, including strength-building exercises, range of motion therapy, balance and coordination training, and mobility assistance to enhance physical development.
Family and Caregiver Education: Educate families and caregivers on physical therapy techniques, exercises, and strategies to facilitate ongoing patient care at home and in the community.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients, ensuring that their needs are met in a respectful and empathetic manner.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in pediatric physical therapy and contribute to ongoing improvements in the center’s rehabilitation practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctoral or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current Physical Therapist license in New York
Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience working as a pediatric Physical Therapist. Experience in pediatric physical therapy or working in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy techniques, anatomy, and therapeutic exercises.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, families, and the healthcare team.
Ability to develop personalized treatment plans and adapt therapies based on individual patient needs.
Compassionate and patient-focused care approach.
Certification: Pediatric certification or specialization (such as Board Certified Pediatric Physical Therapy Specialist) is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Ability to lift and assist patients as required by the therapeutic process.
