Title: Senior Accounting Manager, Financial Systems
Location: Norwalk, CT Area (Hybrid)
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
We are seeking a motivated accounting professional who is tech savvy to join our team. In this role, you will be a working manager actively involved in project management, project planning, and execution. Liaise effectively with senior personnel and controllership, acquisitions, reinforce protocols in AP/AR functions, and bridge the gap across accounting and IT teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for financial systems aligned with organizational goals. Evaluate and recommend new financial technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Manage the budget for financial systems projects.
- Oversee deployment, configuration, and maintenance of financial systems, ensuring seamless integration with other business applications. Continuously assess system performance and implement improvements.
- Manage API connections between proprietary front-end systems and the ERP system. Serve as a key resource for the software development team, conveying finance and accounting business needs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a system analyst, working closely with Controllers and accounting teams. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide training and support to staff on financial systems and related tools.
- Manage financial systems projects from start to finish, ensuring timely, within scope, and on-budget delivery. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for project alignment and success.
- Oversee resolution of system issues, including technical troubleshooting and user support. Ensure proper documentation and support procedures are in place.
- Ensure financial systems comply with regulatory requirements and internal controls. Implement and monitor security measures to protect financial data and system integrity. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and dashboards for financial performance analysis. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial data. Support preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6 years of experience in accounting, at least 3 years of supervisory and project management
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, financial reporting tools).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with system implementations or upgrades.
- Familiarity with SQL or other data query languages.
