We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team focusing on HVAC & Plumbing Preventative Maintenance Agreements (PMA) . This role is pivotal in driving growth and expanding our market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, strategic planning, and customer relationship management. You will work collaboratively with various teams to identify new business opportunities, develop strategies, and foster long-term relationships with clients.

Job Summary

Smith-Boughan is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive the sale of HVAC and Building Automation maintenance solutions. This role involves identifying, promoting, and securing solution-based maintenance programs for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients throughout the Maryland and Delaware markets. You will work directly with customers to enhance energy efficiency, operational reliability, and asset longevity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on building relationships, generating leads, and closing deals in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

What Makes You a Good Fit?

  • Experience: 3 years of self-generated, B2B sales in a service-based business.
  • Industry Knowledge: HVAC and/or Building Automation experience preferred but not required if you have a proven record of success in new business development.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in consultative, value-based, and cross-selling techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospect for New Clients: Use networking, cold calling, and other strategies to identify and engage decision-makers.
  • Client Meetings: Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings to build rapport and understand client needs.
  • Solution Development: Qualify client needs and propose tailored HVAC and Building Automation solutions.
  • Surveys and Pricing: Conduct equipment surveys and collaborate with leadership to develop pricing strategies.
  • Proposals and Negotiations: Prepare, present, and negotiate client proposals, ensuring successful deal closures.
  • Sales Goals: Maintain a robust sales pipeline and meet or exceed forecasted targets.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Identify opportunities for targeted campaigns and represent the company at industry events like BOMA, IFMA, and Chamber of Commerce functions.
  • Reporting: Track and report sales activity using CRM tools or other company templates.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
