Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Employee Benefits Account Management team to support current and planned growth. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with clients, negotiating benefits packages, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing exceptional benefits knowledge and service to all clients and stakeholders. We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 3 years of Employee Benefits client service experience who are actively looking to develop in their career and handle employer groups of 100 / $50k in revenue.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with clients helping them understand their employee benefits needs and manage all aspects of the daily service of their program(s).
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers and benefits providers to secure optimal packages for clients.
  • Partner with Risk Advisors on renewal plans and work with carriers to evaluate options, interpret benefits data to inform decision making for clients.
  • Prepare proposals and other documentation for clients, ensuring the best possible solutions are delivered to clients in a high quality and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Work with Risk Advisors and other team members to build, implement, and deliver comprehensive client service plans.
  • Coordinate, support, and provide training and support to clients on benefits administration throughout the lifecycle of business.
  • Resolve any issues related to employee benefits programs.
  • Utilize agency management system, Applied Epic, for daily activities, documentation and client communication ensuring relevant data and information is properly managed.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, processes, and procedures while maintaining confidentiality of client and company information.
  • Participate in internal learning and development sessions.
  • Stay relevant and updated on industry trends.
  • Be a team player supporting others, mentoring and providing back up client coverage for other Account Managers.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret benefits data.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement to drive productivity and performance for our team and our clients.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration software and carrier software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience in Applied EPIC preferred.
  • Keep current with continuing education requirements and maintain knowledge of changing industry to stay relevant in the employee benefits/insurance marketplace.
  • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, be flexible, and welcome change.
  • Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed.
  • Highly self-motivated, strong work ethic, resilience, grit, and stress tolerance to overcome hurdles.
  • Team Player who consistently defaults to good.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits account management working with 100 employee groups.
  • Life and Health license in good standing required.
  • Experience working in employee benefits at an agency or brokerage.
  • Background in employee benefits underwriting a plus.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

General Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced office environment with significant telephone and in person interactions.
  • Offsite client and network meetings may require non-standard normal working hours and/or some travel as normal course of business.
  • Ability to view computer monitors for extended periods of time.
  • Support flexibility when needed.
