Job Summary
This position will report directly to the Cutting Supervisor and and be responsible for operation of the fabric and/or leather cutting machines with a focus on personal safety, the safety of others, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Possess desire and ambition to work safely and efficiently and report all work hazards immediately.
- Complete fabric or leather cutting in accordance with order sheets.
- Ability to operate cutting machines safely.
- Ability to recognize flaws in fabric and leather and how to mark for cutout.
- Understand how to use partial hides or rolls of fabric.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
- CNC experience (preferred).
- Attention to detail and colors.
- Maintain good attendance.
- Team orientation and willingness to work with others.
Work Hours
3rd Shift - 9:30 PM - 6 AM, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
There are two, ten minute paid breaks during the shift. Daily overtime may be needed to ensure manufacturing can meet demands for the following day.
Wages
Starting wage for this position is $17.50 per hour. During the training period, some overtime is available. Wage increases are commensurate with acquired job skills and are paid on an incentive basis, with the average person making $18 - $20 per hour in 12 months.
