Upholstery Worker (Berne)

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Upholstery Worker to join our team in Berne. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship and a strong attention to detail. This role involves working with various materials and tools to create high-quality upholstered products. The Upholstery Worker will contribute to the production process by utilizing sewing machines, hand tools, and power tools to ensure that all items meet our quality standards.

Duties

• Possess desire and ambition to work safely and efficiently and report all work hazards immediately.
• Use hand tools such as air powered staple guns, pliers, staple pullers, scissors, and regulators to build and upholster top quality furniture.
• Secure work pieces and materials onto production equipment.
• Work with materials such as glue, staples, and nails.
• Examine furniture frames, springs, etc. to identify any defects.
• Cover wooden frame with soft materials such as cotton, felt pad, fiber, or foam to improve texture and appearance.
• Fitting, installing, and securing pre-cut and sewn material to prepped frames using the best upholstery techniques available based on the task at hand.
• Align seams and patterns as necessary for individual pieces.
• Conduct routine maintenance of work tools and upholstery machines.
• Work in a cellular environment with a team of co-workers in the safest most efficient manner possible.
• Discuss complications or assembly cell slowdowns with supervisors and brainstorm solutions for increased productivity.
• Work with quality department to repair any defects.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience

• Previous experience in upholstery or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with machining processes and millwork is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
