CHIEF TRAINING OFFICER (CTO)

 

Position Overview:

The Chief Training Officer (CTO) will lead the design, implementation, and management of a comprehensive onboarding and education program to support the development of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. This leadership role is responsible for creating a structured, high-quality training curriculum for all employees—from their first day through ongoing professional development—to foster a culture of learning, growth, and excellence.

 

The CTO will work closely with senior leadership, attorneys, and support staff to identify skill gaps and ensure team members are fully equipped to thrive in the specialized field of nursing home abuse litigation.

 

Compensation:

$60,000

Key Responsibilities:

 

Onboarding Program Development and Delivery:

  • Develop and implement a seamless, engaging, and effective onboarding experience for new hires (attorneys, paralegals, and support staff).
  • Collaborate with the executive team to ensure new employees understand the firm’s mission, values, processes, and performance expectations.
  • Provide training on core systems, litigation workflows, and nursing home abuse case fundamentals.
  • Continuously improve onboarding materials and feedback loops to enhance employee engagement and retention.

 

Continuing Education & Professional Development:

  • Design and oversee an extensive continuing education program that includes in-depth training on nursing home abuse law, litigation strategies, and client-centered practices.
  • Create customized learning plans for attorneys, paralegals, and staff at various levels of experience.
  • Work closely with the Chief Process Officer to incorporate internal training.
  • Work closely with the Chief of Staff to incorporate CLEs (Continuing Legal Education), external seminars, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Track industry updates and ensure training content reflects the latest legal, medical, and regulatory developments impacting nursing home abuse cases.
  • Develop and manage a library of training resources, including manuals, videos, process guides, and interactive learning tools.
  • Partner with senior associates, litigation leaders, and firm executives to identify knowledge gaps, skill priorities, and emerging education needs.

 

Performance Measurement & Optimization:

  • Assess and measure training outcomes to ensure effectiveness and impact on employee performance and case results.
  • Collect feedback to continually optimize training programs and address evolving needs.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on program success, adoption, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, law, organizational development, or a related field; JD preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in education/training program development, ideally in a law firm or legal services environment.
  • Proven experience building and managing onboarding and professional development programs.
  • Knowledge of nursing home abuse litigation or personal injury law is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop clear, engaging training materials.
