What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Aide position at Smith County?
The Case Aide is responsible for assisting probation officers by performing duties not requiring certification as a probation officer.
Salary & Benefits:
Starting salary $14.00 per hour. Additional incentive pay for bi-lingual Spanish skills.
Responsible for assisting probation officers by performing duties not requiring certification as a probation officer.
- Retrieving school records
- Notifying families of court hearings or appointments
- Transportation of families and/or children to court
- Appointment letters and letters to victims
- Delivering documents to and from other County offices
- Filing alphabetically and numerically
- Assisting in physical intervention as necessary.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must be able to operate a computer for word processing and email functions.
- Must have or be able to:
- Have dependable transportation
- Be insurable by the county insurance carrier
- Must be able to:
- File folders and documents alphabetically and numerically
- Able to operate cell phone. Able to operate 2-way radio.
- Must successfully complete:
- Physical and work fitness exams,
- Psychological exam
- Drug test
- Background investigation
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Licenses and Certifications
Must have or be able to obtain a Texas Driver License.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Daily sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, ascend/descend stairs reaching, and lifting of items possibly weighing 40 pounds or more.
Travel
The Case Aide must be able to drive a ¾ ton van.
