JOB
The Operator I operates light and/or heavy equipment for the Road and Bridge department. Operator I will be required to operate light and/or heavy equipment for the Road and Bridge Department in a safe effective manner. Operate motor vehicles and/or heavy haul trucks in a safe efficient manner. Works as part of a crew of Operators as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, Crew Leader or Operator designated to supervise the crew.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Works as part of a crew of Operators as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, Crew Leader or Operator designated to supervise the crew.Reports completed job data to the crew supervisor including, but not limited to, labor and equipment time, materials ordered, used, stockpiled or returned.Responsible for the proper upkeep, care and storage of crew-assigned equipment.Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary for certain locations.May be required to work outside of normal business hours. Assists in other areas as needed.

High School diploma or G.E.D.Licenses and CertificationsMust have a Class A Commercial Driver License.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentDaily sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, reaching and lifting of items possibly weighing 40 pounds or more in an outdoor environment with exposure to severe extremes in weather.
