What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Assistant position at Smith Crossing?
Job Duties include:
- Facilitates admissions to the Health Center.
- Works with Nursing personnel to establish appropriate placement of new Residents.
- Provides “Active Listening” for Residents and Families and acts as a resource in any areas of concern.
- Handles initial inquiries from potential residents and family members.
- Handles inquiries from hospitals and verifies benefits prior to admission.
- Assists with appeals as needed
- Works closely with interdisciplinary team, including Housekeeping.
- Coordinates with EVS and housekeeping to assure
that cleanliness and aesthetics are maintained in resident areas and in public
areas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum 6 months experience in Admissions or working within the Admissions or Resident Services Arena
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in Customer Service – Long Term Care preferred.
