PRIMARY FUNCTION
Technicians are trained on a wide variety of duties spanning multiple industries. This is a fun, exciting and challenging career with something different to do each day, great earning potential for a self-starter and hardworking individual.
The primary responsibility of this position is to independently perform a variety of advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment within an automotive service center or other facilities. Equipment may include but is not limited to air compressors, refrigerated dryers, lubrication systems, hydraulic lifts, tire changers, wheel balancers, brake lathes and alignment machines. Extensive knowledge of the principles, methods, equipment, and tools used to repair and install electro-mechanical equipment is required.
*Exact experience is not required but the ability to solve mechanical problems, troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment and efficiently use hand/power tools is a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Diagnose technical equipment issues and determine proper solutions
Perform installation, preventative maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on a variety of industrial equipment including but not limited to: air compressors, refrigerated dryers, hydraulic lifts, tire changers, wheel balancers, brake lathes, alignment machines, and lubrication systems
Interpret technical manuals to aid in disassembling/reassembling system components
Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
Provide excellent customer service during field visits
Promote and practice proper safety procedures
Maintain clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety procedures
Communicate to management regarding work performed in the field using required reports
Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot equipment
Uses hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment
Uses miscellaneous resources and computers to reference parts, get information about parts, record data
Uses tools to disassemble/reassemble parts or equipment; cleans parts; uses test equipment to make diagnostic checks; and controls powered equipment or tools to make repairs
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Willing to learn and take detailed instruction
Proven mechanical field service experience and mechanical aptitude
Understanding of single and three phase power
Extensive knowledge of methods, equipment, and tools used to repair/install industrial equipment
Operate a variety of service vehicles such trucks, fork lifts, scissor lifts and maneuver trailers
Cooperate with team, share information across the organization, follow company procedures
Familiarity with mobile technology and applications
Superb customer service, communication and self-management skills
Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience:
3 years of technical field service experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment. Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of industrial and/or automotive service equipment. Possess strong mechanical and electrical skills as well as good understanding of single and three phase power.

Must be willing to learn, self-directed and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills. Can work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to interface with customers (both internal & external) effectively and courteously. Read, write, and speak clearly in English.
Physical:
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb besides, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs; Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop electronic repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 75 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoists for heavier parts.
Field Activity:
Must be able to daily operate a service vehicle and drive for extended periods to reach customer locations. Field activities require a valid state driver's license and possess a safe driving record. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Education:
Must have a high school diploma or GED
